
Cotes d'Armor Gites are situated close to the villages of Pommerit Jaudy and La Roche Derrien, in an ideal location for exploring the many and varied sights and culture of northern Brittany.
Even a short bicycle ride to the local boulangerie for your morning croissants takes you back into the intriguing history and varied architecture of the area.
The area is known as the Pink Granite coast or 'Cote de Granit Rose' which as the name suggests is due to the colour of the granite rocks that make up this exquisite coastline.
Nowhere is this more visible than the area of Ploumanac'h
where giant boulders have been tumbled and worn by millennia into intriguing
shapes. Some of the boulders have their own names, but wandering amongst them you can
picture any number of images, from bottles to dragons.

protected nature reserve. There are ideal opportunities for snorkelling, sub-aqua diving or fishing and anyone can hunt in the numerous rock pools for oysters, escapees from the local oyster beds. |
The area boasts magnificent medieval towns such as Treguier
and Lannion and the winding lanes with ancient half timbered buildings pay
host to bustling weekly markets.

From fresh fish and produce to local arts and crafts, most
things can be found in the local markets. |

Stroll around the colourful gardens and ruins of the Abbey
de Beauport and then enjoy an evening meal in one of the many harbour side restaurants in the historic port of Paimpol. |  |
Ride the steam train from Paimpol along the
banks of the beautiful Trieux estuary or visit the magnificent Chateau Roche Jagu which spectacularly
dominates the twisting river valley below.
In Pontrieux browse the arts and crafts shops and view the ancient village wash houses dotted along the banks of the picturesque river.
